Fun Themed Invitations For a Kids Birthday Party Home And Family ...

Kids themed birthday party invitations are as many and varied as kids themselves. Purchasing invitations is easier than but not as fun as making homemade kids birthday party invitations. Regardless of the option one chooses, it is important to create invitations that reflect the theme of the party, e.g., superheroes, western, sci-fi, candy, TV shows, sports, or dinosaurs.

The easiest way to make birthday invitations is by taking various colored sheets of construction paper (or felt), then putting them together with scissors and glue. Cut out various patterns and characters and paste them on a piece of construction paper. Once the invitations are complete, use a copier/scanner to print out the homemade invitations. Crop the images, zoom in or out, and create different party invitations using the same images. It is important to create a base and apply foreground images that tie in the party theme. Additional modifications and edits can also be applied to the invitations using photo-editing software.

Depending on the party theme will determine which colors and styles are used when making homemade party invitations. For a girl?s birthday party, use light, pastel colors. For a boy, use darker bolder colors on the party invitations. Let the child have a voice in how the party invitations are made. The child may be too young to use scissors and other computer editing software, ensure you encourage them to participate in the invitations process.

Be sure to include all the necessary information on the invitations, not just well-crafted images. Include the information needed on the inside of the invitation (folded) or on the outside implement in the design of the invitation. Include specific details on directions to the party, as well as suggestions on costumes to wear. As an extra treat, include confetti and small candies in the invitation envelopes.

Using arts and crafts materials with the birthday boy or girl can create the opportunity for both family bonding and creative accomplishment (unless the party is a surprise, in which case the child must not participate in making the invitations).

The various types of invitation paper include flat, matte w/ pockets, layered, folded, and fold-up in square or rectangular shapes. Fold-up pocket invitation pochettes can provide excellent protection for the invitations. Additional add-ons include those trendy You Are Invited envelope seals.

No matter the type of theme party invitations, send all invitations 2-4 weeks before the party?s scheduled date. Give guests the opportunity to make appropriate travel arrangements, find a costume, and locate costume accessories.
