Termites are the deadliest of insects. Most insects have a lifespan of a month, tops. Termites live for years on end, they don't sleep and they work non-stop, 24 hours a day. Soldier and worker termites work incessantly for years and the queen can live up to 15 years and has the amazing, mind boggling capacity of laying a dangerous new egg every 15 seconds. Scientists argue that nature has bestowed upon termites the virtue of turning dead wood into nutrients that enrich the soil. It is all too well for the termites and Mother Nature too, although humans have the slight disadvantage of not being able to make the termites differentiate between good wood and dead wood, hence the enmity. Termites are happy to gnaw at anything that humans care to call home. It is a known fact the combined weight of the human population is far less than that of the mighty termites. Seems like being in darkness for most of their lives does termites a world of good!
The biggest cause that invites termites that wreak havoc is poor home maintenance. They rarely use anything that happens to be near the foundation or the walls as a means to enter the building. Cracks in the stucco or paint that has come off the walls give an invitation to termites. Subterranean colonies of termites are particularly alarming. Each colony may have a hundred thousand termites and an infested house could contain a number of subterranean colonies.
It is all about maintenance where any kind of pests are concerned. If the building is properly taken care of, there is little damage that any kind of pests can inflict. Any kind of crevices containing even scrapes of wood could prove to be a favorite food and consequential hangout of termites. After all, a species that evolved over 250 million years ago from cockroaches would definitely be a force to reckon.
The major problem that people face of recurrence of termites is due to the fact that they take it in their own hands to buy the fanciest of chemicals and get deceived into believing they have washed their hands off the termite problem for good. The south of the United States has a heavier infestation than any other place. California is no less prone to a termite attack.
Termite control in Santa Clara depends on the kind of termite inspection in Santa Clara, which goes to say that if one gets a place inspected for termite infestation by a professional exterminator, chances of a nice, complete removal of the pests are relatively very high.
